About Me

Hello! I'm Revis Leonard, the proud Texan behind Leonard Genealogy Research. My love for genealogy blossomed in 1996, and it has grown into both a passion and a part-time profession.

My educational background includes an A.S. degree from Excelsior College and a Certificate in Genealogical Research from Boston University's Center for Professional Education. Before venturing into the world of genealogy, I worked as a certified legal assistant for almost thirty years. This experience equipped me with invaluable research and organizational skills, which I've seamlessly incorporated into my genealogical pursuits.

I'm also a proud graduate of ProGen and have attended prestigious genealogy institutes such as the Forensic Genealogy Institute and the Salt Lake Institute for Genealogy. Presently, I wear the hat of chapter registrar for Uvalde de las Encinas (NSDAR), dedicated to connecting people with their ancestral roots and conserving historical records. I co-administer various DNA projects at Family Tree DNA, notably the Cauble, Ziegenfuss, Callaway, and Freeman surname projects.

My involvement in the genealogy community is further evidenced by my memberships in numerous state societies, the National Genealogical Society, the Association for Professional Genealogists, and the APG-South Central Chapter.

Join me on this journey as we discover the past together, connecting histories and forging new memories!
